Nutrition When it comes to achieving your fitness goals, nutrition is often the missing link that can make all the difference. The quality and quantity of both diet and an exercise program together are what get people the results they want. For most people nutrition typically falls into two different categories; neglected completely or made so entirely complicated that it’s too difficult for people to adhere too.
   
Total Fitness and Health knows the importance of a quality diet and understands the science behind it.  That’s exactly why we take as much of the scientific lingo out of our nutrition advice as possible. KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID (KISS) is what we preach to our clients. 


A majority of the population simply needs to make a few minor changes to their diet and pounds will begin to shed off like never before. No more running 3 miles a day hoping it will lead to the trim, fit body you want. People need to be fit to run, not run to be fit.  For those who want to get big and ripped, the thought process is often just eat as much as you possibly can. That’s easy anyone can do that. However how much of that weight gain will be fat and how much will be lean muscle?

We use a simple program called the 5 Habits pulled from our nutritional certifiers, Precision Nutrition. The 5 Habits are designed to get people away from the traditional thought process of simply eating a well balanced diet and only three meals a day. It provides 5 simple rules to follow every day to achieve better nutrition and get faster results.

The 5 Habits

meals Step 1: Eat 5 times a day
Protien Step 2: Eat a complete source of protein with every meal
fruits and veggies Step 3: Eat Fruits and vegetables with every meal
Carbs Step 4: Reduce your carb intake and stay away from processed carbs
Avacado Fatty Foods Step 5: DON’T avoid fats!
