Our fitness assessment is designed to give the coach as much information as possible about your body. How it moves, how it looks, and how it functions both still and in movement. We use this information to help create your customized training program. It gives us a starting place and insures safe efficient progressions within the program.
Most people hear the word assessment and cringe. They think doctors office, dentist appointment, or “great he’s going to tell me how out of shape I am in. Our assessment is not designed to make you think any of those things. We want you to feel good about the decision you have just made. We are here to help you. The more information we get out of the assessment the more we know exactly what it is you need to start with in order to achieve your goal.
There are 4 parts that make up the assessment and all are equally important. Some of the exercises you probably have never done before but that’s ok everything is to benefit you and achieving your goal. See our client information sheet here. |

Go over Questionnaires
The first step of the assessment involves going over a few questionnaires that you will print, fill out, and bring with you to your initial assessment. This tells the coach what your goals are, what your fitness and health history is like, and if there is anything we should be aware of before starting the assessment. Questionnaires can be printed from here. |

Postural Analysis
Views of your body from the front, back, and both sides are taken to see how well your body is aligned and whether or not there are any red flags that we should be aware of. This also serves as a great “before” picture to compare next to your amazing after picture 8 weeks from now.
Functional Movement Screen
Here you will perform 7 movements that as human beings we should all be able to do well. However, most of our sedentary lifestyles create muscle imbalances, impingements and faulty movement patterns that make some of these movements difficult. Each test is performed three times and ranked on a scale of 1-3, 3 meaning excellent, 1 meaning we have some work to do. Either way “moving” in general from this point forward will only get easier for you. |

Body Fat and Girth Measurements
This is the part that most everyone absolutely fears, pinchers and tape measurers. Girth is not a very pretty word to describe how big or small someone might be. For the purposes of this assessment we are just looking for base numbers. 8 weeks from now we want to look back at these numbers to see just how far you have come. By that time they may put a big smile on your face.
After completion of your fitness assessment we’ll go over your results and discuss what your training schedule will look like going forward. Every member that joins also receives a free nutrition journal to help jump-start his or her fitness program. If additional nutrition consultation is needed, nutrition sessions may be purchased separately.
